Annnnd I’m right there with you with the friend thing. Middle school was ROUGH, man. It is not easy being a Hanson fan xD I hope they know the shit we put up with sticking up for them lmfao. I know I make it sound dramatic, but really. You tell someone you like Hanson and they respond in one of three ways:
1) LOLHANSONSUCKS
2) Omg I didn’t know they were still around o.O
3) I seriously thought the middle one was a girl when I was younger. No joke.The number of times I’ve heard #3 -____- like let’s pull out the pictures of you when you were going through puberty, eh? Jay-sus. And I feel like people think they’re being clever when they tell me that? But i’ve heard it a bajillion times. When I tell them they’re not a unique snowflake or witty they usually go something like “I’m not trying to be mean though!” Oh sorry, you’re original. Just like everyone else who’s used that line.

And I really don’t need everyone in the world to love Hanson? But I just wish that they would give me like a real reason when I come to them. Like, I’m confused what it is » Are the harmonies off? The instruments? The vocals? The lyrics? I mean, work with me here, people xD I guess the best thing someone could say to me who doesn’t become a fan is, “They definitely have talent, it’s just not my particular style of music” because that’s cool with me. There are types of music I don’t want to listen to over and over again, but I still GET it. I get where the appeal is. I respect and appreciate their music and the talent of the artist, but people seem to want to brush me off when I’m like “Hey listen to this amazing Hanson song!” xD

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I had stopped being into Hanson… like I legit had a picture of them HIDDEN under my pillow when I was like 13. I was terrified that people would find out that I liked Hanson. Actually, when one of my neighbors found it I think I cried to my mom xDDD I was like “No one will like me anymore! Noooo!” hahahaha. I was super embarrassed. That said, being a Hanson fan has given me tough skin. I’m clearly no longer embarrassed and am certainly not afraid to be different, lol. My mom always tells me that’s because of Hanson. I love her.
